What is an aortic arch aneurysm?
The aorta is a blood vessel that carries oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body. The part of the aorta that curves over the heart is called the aortic arch. An aortic arch aneurysm is a bulge in the aortic arch. This area is overstretched and weak and can burst.
