What is celiac artery compression syndrome?

The celiac artery is a large blood vessel that carries oxygen-rich blood from the aorta to the stomach, liver, and other organs. Celiac artery compression syndrome occurs when a ligament in the diaphragm squeezes tightly on the celiac artery. This reduces blood flow to the stomach, liver, and other organs.
