Kayla Hood, NP-BC

Kayla Hood is a board-certified nurse practitioner with The Chattanooga Heart Institute. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University San Marcos in San Marcos. Kayla joined The Chattanooga Heart Institute in 2023. Her focus is on providing holistic care for patients with cardiac conditions, emphasizing patient education and shared decision-making. Kayla believes in treating each patient as an individual, customizing care plans, and providing comprehensive information in an understandable way. Kayla was inspired to become an advanced practice provider by her passion for critical care and the desire to provide more holistic care to her patients. Her interest in cardiology stems from her fascination with the field and the opportunity to improve patients' quality of life. Kayla has been recognized for her exceptional patient care and precepting skills. In her free time, Kayla enjoys reading, working on her farm, and spending time with her husband and two children.
