At CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Gastroenterology in Lexington, our gastroenterologists have expertise in diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. We offer colon cancer screening to catch problems early, as well as specialized ultrasound imaging to diagnose and treat digestive conditions. Our team removes precancerous growths and treats conditions like Barrett’s esophagus to help prevent cancer. For more complex cases, we perform deep scope procedures to examine and treat issues in the small intestine. We provide comprehensive screening and diagnostic tests. These include:

  • Capsule endoscopy or enteroscopy

  • Colon cancer screening

  • Diagnostic and interventional endoscopic ultrasound

  • Upper endoscopy and ERCP

A colonoscopy examines your colon and rectum for polyps or cancer. We recommend starting screenings by age 45 if you are at average risk, or earlier if you have a family history of colorectal cancer.
