About this location

The caring staff at CHI St. Vincent Pregnancy Clinic ensures every mother has support, encouragement and a healthy pregnancy. Our team of specialists provides prenatal and OB/GYN care for expecting mothers who don’t have insurance or are underinsured. We offer nutritional and financial counseling and connect you with social workers for additional resources. Expectant mothers can enroll in Pals in Pregnancy, an educational program offered at the Anthony Childbirth Center for pregnant women and their babies. Women participating in Pals in Pregnancy can earn points that can be redeemed at our Stork Closet for diapers and wipes. The program is also offered in Spanish.

As you plan for the new addition to your family, here are some helpful preparation tips:

  • Choose a pediatrician 

  • Make sure you are registered at the hospital

  • Plan childcare arrangements for other siblings

  • Wash baby clothes and linens

  • Have your baby’s car seat installation inspected. To locate the nearest car seat safety check station, visit www.nhtsa.gov

  • Pack for your hospital stay

We recommended packing these items to bring with you to the hospital for labor, delivery and recovery:

  • Baby book or anything else you would like footprints in/on

  • Baby blanket or swaddle

  • Contact lens supplies and/or eyeglasses

  • Extra pillows 

  • Going home outfits for mom and baby

  • Robe, slippers, nursing bra (or tight-fitting sports bra if not nursing) and warm socks

  • Phone charger

  • Toiletry items like your toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash, body wash and hair care products

Yes. We recommend a comprehensive postpartum visit with your OB/GYN provider within six weeks of giving birth. Seek medical care right away if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Changes in vision

  • Chest pain, fast-beating heart or trouble breathing

  • Extreme swelling of your hands, face, arms or legs

  • Fever of 100.4 or higher

  • Headaches, dizziness or fainting

  • Heavy vaginal bleeding or discharge after pregnancy

  • Overwhelming tiredness

  • Severe belly pain, nausea or vomiting

  • Thoughts of harming yourself or your baby
