If your condition is stable, you can choose the ER that’s most convenient for you. If EMS is transporting you, they’ll help decide on the best hospital for your needs, like a trauma center or a facility specializing in cardiology.
We’re open until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For a smooth visit, please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing to allow time for registration.
Our goal is to see you as promptly as possible. Since wait times can vary based on patient needs, we don’t provide exact wait times, but we’ll keep you informed. Critical cases, like those with chest pain or needing stitches, may take longer. As a walk-in facility, our lobby can fill up quickly, though shorter waits are often in late mornings or early afternoons on weekdays.
Most prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy before you leave our office. The only time you’ll receive a handwritten prescription is for controlled substances, like cough syrup with codeine or pain medication for a fracture.
If your insurance card lists an office visit copay, we’ll collect that at check-in. If it’s not specified, we’ll work with your insurance company to confirm your copay or coinsurance. If you have an unmet deductible, you’ll need to pay that along with your co-pay, and we’ll bill any remaining balance. We’ll also notify you of any outstanding balances with our office or other CHI St. Vincent locations.
