CommonSpirit Health has appointed Lilicia Bailey, Ph.D as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, effective August 7, 2023. Bailey will serve as a member of the organization’s Executive Leadership Team.

Lilicia Bailey Named Sr. Executive VP and Chief People Officer

CHICAGO – August 4, 2023 – CommonSpirit Health has appointed Lilicia Bailey, Ph.D as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, effective August 7, 2023. Bailey will serve as a member of the organization’s Executive Leadership Team and report to CEO Wright Lassiter III.

Bailey brings more than 20 years of human resources leadership experience to her role at CommonSpirit. She will develop effective, sustainable and transformative human capital strategies to enable growth and invigorate efforts to solidify the ministry’s culture of engagement, innovation and accountability.

Bailey joins CommonSpirit from Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, where she served as the Chief People Officer. There, she established post-pandemic strategic solutions to workforce staffing challenges, built collegial partnerships and raised employee engagement and retention.

Bailey holds an MBA and Ph.D. in Global Leadership Change from Pepperdine University, and a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College.
