Anyone who has had a heart attack, heart surgery, angioplasty or heart failure may benefit. The program helps improve fitness, relieve symptoms and reduce the risk of future heart problems.

Cardiac rehab has three phases:
Phase 1: Inpatient rehabilitation
Begins while you’re still in the hospital. A specialist evaluates you, provides education on heart health and prepares you for outpatient care.
Phase 2: Early outpatient rehabilitation
Starts about two weeks after your heart event. This phase includes:
Focused education on your condition
Stress management counseling
Supervised exercise with heart monitoring Patients typically attend rehab three times a week.
Phase 3: Maintenance and Prevention
Begins two to three months after your heart event. Patients can continue supervised exercise in a safe, affordable setting. Staff track progress and provide ongoing support. Patients may exercise up to five times per week.
