We diagnose and treat conditions related to the brain and spinal cord blood vessels, primarily stroke, where blood flow to the brain is disrupted.
Neurologists diagnose and treat conditions affecting your brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. These include:
Brainstem disorders
Cerebral or closed head injuries
Chronic headaches
Damage to, or diseases of, cervical or lumbar disks
Infections of the central nervous system (i.e. meningitis)
Muscle disorders
Severe neurological impairment (i.e. Guillain-Barré Syndrome)
Visual disorders
You should consider seeing a neurologist if you experience persistent headaches, seizures, dizziness, memory loss, numbness, weakness or other unexplained neurological symptoms.
It depends on your insurance plan. Some insurance providers require a referral from your primary care physician, while others allow you to schedule an appointment directly. We recommend checking with your insurance provider or contacting our office for assistance.
Bring a list of your symptoms, medical history, current medications and any previous test results. It’s also helpful to write down questions you may have for the neurologist.
During your initial visit, your neurologist will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms and perform a neurological exam. They may order additional tests to confirm a diagnosis.
