You should consider seeing an orthopedic doctor if you experience persistent pain, swelling or discomfort in your joints, bones or muscles that does not improve with home care or over-the-counter medications. Additionally, if you have suffered an injury resulting in difficulty moving a joint or visible deformities, it’s important to seek specialized care. Early intervention can help prevent further complications and promote better recovery, so don’t hesitate to consult our orthopedic specialists.
During your orthopedic evaluation, your orthopedic specialist discusses your medical history, including previous injuries, surgeries and current symptoms. They will perform a physical exam, which may include evaluating your range of motion, strength and the stability of the affected area. They may recommend imaging tests such as X-rays or MRIs to better understand any underlying issues. Your provider will discuss their findings with you and outline potential treatment options.
It depends on your insurance plan. Check with your insurance provider or call (859) 313-2255 for assistance with a provider referral.
